For many visitors the special appeal of Little Walsingham is spiritual. It is a place where it is easy to relax, reflect, or pray. The beautiful Anglican pilgrimage shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, with its many chapels, is just across the road from the cottage. The main Roman Catholic shrine with the mediaeval Slipper chapel is a delightful mile’s country walk away at Houghton St. Giles.
The shrines share the same web portal, so you can find out more at www.walsingham.org.uk. There’s also a charming Orthodox chapel in the former railway station.
